Their net worth, reach and influence has grown. Similarly, individuals aligned with this trend have also benefited. Their revenues, profits and stock prices have soared. Companies aligned with technological change have advanced forward at breakneck speeds. This phenomena of accelerating returns has huge implications. Then, in the 2000s, we’ve gone from a world where only a handful of people had smartphones and DVD players in 2005, to a world where everyone has an iPhone and Netflix in 2020. But, in the late 1990s, it took only about 30 years for humans to turn the computer and internet from science fiction into reality. It took humans thousands of years to understand fire, stone tools and the wheel. Not sure I want to keep playing HS right now until some balance changes come along.A quick glance at history confirms this. Now I need to decide if I want to go for Legend or not. I just mean the thought process is less complex, I guess.)Īnyway, thank you again for the help! Yay for level 5! (I know that "strategy" is not good strategy if it doesn't get results. In some ways this makes me sad because I feel like I'm being less "strategic", but it is working better so in the end whatever is more effective. Perhaps one way to describe it is that before I was being cautious (while still playing aggro) and trying to avoid wipeouts and losses, trying mightily to maintain board presence and advantage no matter my opponent's next few moves. Instead now, I'm erring toward laying what I have on the table (in as intelligent a manner as possible) unless I am almost sure a big clear is coming or something. I think before I was almost thinking of too many possibilities and too much ahead. I started laying what I got on the table more. The breakthrough was basically what you were saying here. I am now at Rank 5! That was my goal for this season. Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I think your advice pretty much nailed it. but are there major gameplay/strategy tips you find useful that I may not be aware of? If you're a regular high-rank achiever, were there any breakthroughs for you when you were able to break the ceiling on level 10, or wherever you started to struggle? any tips? I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? Or, maybe around this rank I should switch up to something more like a Jade Shaman or a Dragon Priest that doesn't get insta-crushed by Aggro most games and has a better winrate against Renos? Maybe it's not the deck. But this seems to have the best winrate in common match-ups, for me. have tried adding more Jade parasitic (to use the CCG design parlance) synergy, tried more aggro spells like windfury, tried more weapons and more pirates, etc. Note: I've tried variants with and without Doomhammers+Rockbiter. only in my deck if I'm also using Doomhammer)ġx Lightning Storm (again recently added because of abundance of mirrors)Ģx Shaman balances (Flamewreathed Faceless, 4-cost 7/7) recently added because of the plethora of mirror matches)ġx Rockbiter weapon (2 mana. Here is the deck I generally use, though I've tried many variants:ġx Acidic Swamp Ooze (2 mana. I try to think about how best to coin, and my mulligans vary depending on whether I go first or second, etc. I try to play around AoE and important cards based on mana, I try to think carefully about when to go for face or trades, etc. I always try to think ahead in-match and anticipate my opponents possible hand, possible deck/draws, and next moves. What to mulligan, how to counter other decks, I look at sheets on matchup winrates, and I study other standard decks and common variants of them so I know what to expect. Just struggling to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I know from looking at my stats and reading online that this is the top ~10-15% of standard Ranked players, but I really want to get up to at least rank 5. I quickly flew up the ranks, but keep bouncing around between level 10 and 13. This isn't the most fun for me, but all I care about right now is achieving the highest rank I can, so it's all good I suppose. However, after grinding away in MSoG and getting crushed by either Jade Druid or getting rushed by turn 4 or 5 by aggro Warriors and Shamans, I decided to join the crowd and built (with the help of reddit threads and netdecking) an aggro Shaman. I generally prefer a slower more control-type of play overall. So, I'm curious for advice on what I'm doing wrong. However, I'm struggling to break past rank 10 in HS and I tried pretty hard this season. I'm usually pretty good at card games and strategy games. Came back several months ago and have been enjoying MSoG (except the ridiculous prevalence of aggro and particularly Shaman of various varieties). Played again for a little while during Naxx, and then quit again. I played Hearthstone at launch, then quit for a while. Curious for some tips, as I'm struggling to break past level 10.
